Bandits can't break Lugnuts loose in 6-1 loss

Quad-Cities River Bandits (Low-A): Lost to the Lansing Lugnuts at Oldsmobile Park in Lansing, Michigan last night, 6-1.

All six of the Lugnuts' runs came in the first three innings off of Joshua Wilson, now 1-6. Five of the runs were earned.

Wilson worked on for five full innings, the Bandits waiting on offense that for the most part, never came. The Bandits did score one run in the fourth.

After an Adron Chambers single and Peter Kozma double, Brett Wallace hit a ground ball on which the Lugnuts' shortstop, Justin Jackson, erred, allowing Chambers to scamper home. The rally would go nowhere from there, however, Thomas Pham striking out and Francisco Rivera hitting into an inning-ending double play.

The Bandits would divy up the balance of the defensive innings with three outs of work apiece for relievers Brandon Garner, Matt Spade, and Dylan Gonzalez.
