Howard homers do in Cards

Ryan Howard hit a pair of line drives into the left field seats, accounting for three of the Philadelphia Phillies' runs in a 4-1 win.

Jamie Moyer held the Cardinals to their only run in seven full innings of frustration for La Russa's lineup. Moyer scattered seven hits while giving up only two walks and striking out four. Moyer earned his eighth victory against six losses.

The loss belonged to Braden Looper, who fell to 9-7 as the Redbirds dropped the road series to the Phils.

The Cardinals now travel to Pittsburgh for another three-game set that takes them into the All-Star break.
