MiLB Cardinals ... AA-Sprinigfield takes two from Tulsa; Pagnozzi, from catcher to closer to winner

TULSA, OK--Travelling is a bit easier to cope with when you win. It's a lot easier when you win two!

And it gets real interesting when both teams run out of pitchers. That's what happened due to an extra-inning game in the nightcap. Both the Drillers and the Cardinals were forced to put their catchers on the mound to finish the second game. Matt Pagnozzi worked the hill for Springfield, earning his first win, now 1-0 as a hurler.

The St. Louis Cardinals' Double-A affiliate Springfield Cardinals took both sides of doubleheader from the Tulsa Drillers on Sunday, winning 4-2 in the early game and 7-3 in extra innings in the nightcap.

In the first game, Kyle Mura improved to 2-1, just one out shy of a complete seven-game win. Luke Gregerson needed only one pitch in relief to earn a save, his ninth this season.

Allen Craig hit a home run.

In the nightcap, Brandon Yarbrough went 3-for-5 with a triple.

Cody Haerther went 3-for-4 with two doubles.

Also hitting doubles were: Matt Pagnozzi, Tyler Greene, Isa Garcia, Mark Shorey, Andrew Brown, and John Jay.

Starter Justin Fiske got no decision, but threw three complete innings, allowing no runs on two hits. Fiske walked two and struck out five.

Reliever Joshua Dew struck out four.
