MiLB ... Jones' blast puts Cards in front to stay

Palm Beach Cardinals (High-A):

The Palm Beach Cardinals took the lead, lost the lead, re-took the lead, lost the laed again, re-took it again, and added one run for insurance in the ninth to overcome the Dunedin Blue Jays 5-3 at Knology Park yesterday.

Davis Bilardello improved to 4-1 on only four outs worth of work in middle relief. The Cards used six pitchers in the game, starter Tyler Norrick, then Eddie Degerman before Bilardellow. Earning holds after Bilardellow were Casey Mulligan and Kenneth Maiques, each tallying their second holds, respectively. Francisco Samuel closed, earning his 20th save of the season.

The game-winning hit was supplied by Daryl Jones, a solo shot in the fifth inning to put the Cards up 4-3. The homer was Jones' seventh of the season. Jones was 4-for-4 on the day.

Also providing some punch was Brandon Buckman, who doubled in a 1-for-2 effort.

Third baseman Brian Cartie doubled and was 3-for-3.
