MiLB ... Parisi to start against RedHawks tonight

Memphis Redbirds (AAA):
OKLAHOMA CITY--Mike Parisi (6-2, 3.71) is slated to start the opener of a four-game series against the Oklahoma RedHawks at AT&T Bricktown Ballpark tonight.

Parisi will go head to head with RedHawks' starter Elizardo Ramirez (9-3, 4.10)

With 68 innings pitched for the Triple-A Redbirds, Parisi ranks fourth, easily one of the workhorse starters on the staff. He has appeared in 11 games, completing one, and carries a 3.71 ERA.

So far this season, Parisi has struck out 48 Triple-AAA batters while walking 24, a ratio of exactly 2-to-1 strikeouts to walks.

Parisi has been up with the parent Cardinals this season, as have many of the other hurlers on the Memphis staff, including Kelvin Jimenez, Anthony Reyes, Mark Worrell, Mitchell Boggs, and Randy Flores. The staff also includes Matt Clement, who is yet working his way back to the form he once knew prior to injury.

Other familiar Redbirds' faces that have been activated at some point(s) this season on the 25-man parent roster are: Nick Stavinoha (leading in BA at .344) and Rico Washington.
