MiLB ... Pham, Haerther, Murphy go deep for affiliates

Batavia Muckdogs (A-short season): Lost 6-3 to the Oneonta Tigers.

Blake Murphy homered in the losing cause.

Beau Riportella went 2-for-4 with a double and 1 run scored.

Jameson Maj (2-2, 3.19) suffered the loss for the Muckdogs, pitching 5 complete innings, giving up 1 earned run out of two, allowing 4 hits, walking 1 and striking out a couple.

Ramon Delgado had a rough outing in relief, allowing 4 runs (all earned) in just 1.2 innings of work. He gave up 4 hits while issuing 4 free passes, striking out one.

Springfield Cardinals (AA): Won 8-7 with some late-inning scoring over the Arkansas Travelers.

The Travelers outhit the Cards 13-12, but feel short in a ninth inning comeback.

Marco Gonzalez (5-0) kept a perfect pitching record while Fernando Salas added another save to his record (18).

Mark Shorey went 2-for-4 with 2 doubles, 2 RBIs, and 1 run scored.

Cody Haerther hit his 11th homer of the season on a 2-for-3 day which found him crossing the plate twice.

Allen Craig went 3-for-4 with a run scored.

Andrew Brown went 2-for-4 with a run scored and 2 RBIs.

Palm Beach Cardinals (High-A): Got shutout 8-0 by the Dunedin Blue Jays.

Only four Cards got basehits: Matthew Arburr, Brian Cartie, Daniel Descalso, and Tyler Henley.

Quad-Cities River Bandits (Low-A): Won 6-3 to the Fort Wayne Wizards at Modern Woodmen Park.

Jared Bradford notched the win, his record now 1-1 with 3.95 ERA. Pete Parise recorded his 10th save.

Thomas Pham hit his 13th round-tripper on a 3-for-4 day.

Peter Kozma went 2-for-4 with a double.

D'Marcus Ingram went 2-for-5 with a double, a triple, and 2 runs scored.
