Albert Pujols went 3-for-3 Thursday, raising his average to .353. Pujols has been in a bit of a slump recently, going 9-for-42 in his last 13 games (.214 average) before Thursday's performance."

... Even with a lot of hits, Pujols has too many ABs when compared to Jones. In other words, when Jones gets a hit now, his average moves up much more than when Pujols gets a hit. By the same token, Jones's average could go down just as fast. Therefore, how many at-bats Jones will have to take from now to the end of the season will be carefully managed by the Braves organization. Pujols will play regardless, whenever his team needs him.
