Bucs may opt to alter rotation plans News: "HOUSTON -- The Pirates will not know the severity of Tom Gorzelanny's finger injury until the left-hander is examined by a specialist in Pittsburgh on Friday. However, with a strong possibility that Gorzelanny might not be able to make his next start, manager John Russell may have to alter the six-man rotation plan that he was set to go with until at least Sept. 22.

'[General manager] Neal [Huntington] and I have talked about that,' Russell said. 'We could move somebody from the bullpen to that spot. Since the [Minor League] season just ended, there's still the opportunity to call somebody up. We have a couple days to figure something out.'"

... Pirates news now of interest to Cardinal Nation.
