Sore back forces Chipper to sit out News: "Chipper Jones will not be in the lineup for Friday's game against the Mets because of a sore back. Martin Prado will start at third base, if weather permits and the game is played as scheduled.

Jones, who is in a race for the National League batting title with Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols, enters Friday with a .362 average and 71 RBIs. He went 2-for-8 with one RBI and two runs scored in his last three-game series against the Mets from Aug. 19-21. Against Johan Santana, who is set to start Friday at Shea Stadium, Jones is a lifetime 5-for-11 (.455) with an RBI and a strikeout."
