Clemente Award goes to Cards' Pujols | Philadelphia Inquirer | 10/26/2008

... Of any of the awards that Albert Pujols has won, or may yet receive, the Roberto Clemente Award, in my "guesstimation," means the most to the St. Louis Cardinals' first baseman.

It's obvious to anyone who writes or blogs the Cardinals, and of the fans, recent and longtime, that Pujols puts his heart and soul into more than just baseball. He is a humanitarian as well as a professional ballplayer, and, a family man. He puts his money where his mouth is, and what's more impressive, puts his time where his mouth is.

Clemente Award goes to Cards' Pujols Philadelphia Inquirer 10/26/2008: "'I remember my dad would stop eating and give his food to feed other people,' said Pujols, the St. Louis Cardinals first baseman. 'Me as a little boy, growing up watching that, obviously, that's a huge example that you want to take with you.'"
