Leach's mailbag on Cards Official Site

... The Cards' faithful will be talking deals all off-season, and sometimes there's even a good idea in there.

John Mozeliak will be the one making those decisions, however, and that's if there are any decisions to make.

Regardless, it's always fun to toss around the idea of who you think should stay in St. Louis, who should go, and how the deals might be constructed. Usually, the longer you tinker with these ideas, the more you may appreciate the challenges of Mozeliak's job.

Mailbag: Let's talk pitching stlcardinals.com: News: "If that. I suspect a Kennedy deal would look an awful lot like the Tino Martinez deal from a few years back. If the Cardinals were willing to pay the vast majority or all of the $4 million remaining on Kennedy's contract, they might get a prospect. If not, they'd likely get a non-prospect Minor Leaguer. Kennedy bounced back some in '08, but his trade value would seem to be very limited."
