Jimenez whisked off waiver wires

... Say so long to Kelvin Jimenez, who has suddenly been transformed from a Redbird to a Bluebird, claimed by the Toronto Blue Jays off waivers.

We've seen Jimenez show some promise during the last season, but with some obvious work yet to be done. Still, the young man had an opportunity to show his stuff with the parent club as the pitching staff dissipated during the year. Jiminez has something, but when his talent comes to fruition is hard to tell. The Blue Jays were willing to try to figure out how to make Jimenez better, faster, it seems.
photo by Barbara Moore Sports Blue Jays claim Sanchez and Jimenez off waivers: "The Toronto Blue Jays made a pair of waiver claims Monday, getting right-handed pitcher Kelvin Jimenez from the St. Louis Cardinals and shortstop Angel Sanchez from the Kansas City Royals.

Jimenez, 28, split last season between St. Louis, where he allowed 15 runs in 24 innings over 15 games, and the triple-A Memphis Redbirds, where he was 1-6 with a 2.92 ERA in 46 relief appearances."
