Manny says no to $25 million

Obviously, Manny Ramirez' agent, Scott Boras, hasn't heard the pleas of Albert Pujols.

Or, Boras is just ignoring #5.

Nothing says Ramirez is out of St. Louis's (payroll) league like his turning down a one-year, $25 million contract by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

I mean, really, what's Cardinals' GM John Mozeliak supposed to do? Offer Manny more, more more? I'm pretty sure Mo is off the hook.

Unless of course the heart of one of the toughest player agents in baseball melts and he walks Manny into Busch Stadium by the hand, the other dabbing at tears of joy, sobbing out something like: "Please accept our discounted offer so Manny can play for a team that can't afford to keep Aaron Miles around (sob-sob), or, Felipe Lopez, or..."

Even if Pujols played for free for the next two seasons, the Cards couldn't afford the contract Ramirez just turned down.

Did I say that already?

Well than it must've been Cardinal Nation waking up from its Manny dream (or nightmare!).
