Letting go sooner is actually a favor

It's always hard news for a vet to hear they're getting let go during spring training, as was the case with Alex Cora and Koyie Hill. And real likeable fellas we hear.

But as disappointing as that may seem, it actually could help these guys, or anyone in such a boat, at getting a shot at a team that could definately use their expertise. It wouldn't surprise me if both these vets ended up on someone's major league roster before the week is out.

Had it been the last week of spring training before they got released, it may have been a lot harder to find a job on another team, which by then, probably would have all their dilemmas addressed.

Good luck to Cora and Hill.
