While Carlos Gonzalez pitched better than could be expected for a young talent, and the Cardinals' offense did a good job against the premier hurler of the N.L., it wasn't enough for a sweep against the Dodgers Sunday night at Busch Stadium.
There was a bit of drilling going on as well, a couple times by Cards pitching to knock Hanley Ramirez out of the game, and a Clayton Kershaw drilling of Matt Holliday.
The Dodgers won the battle, however, edging the Redbirds, 4-3, and setting up a potential grudge match of a playoff should both teams advance in post season.
