Great American shutout at the Ballpark

CINCINNATI--After a boatload of one-run ballgames--wins and losses--the St. Louis Cardinals managed to blank the Reds in the rubber match of their three-game series at Great American Ballpark, 3-0.

Cards' starter Michael Wacha (13-4) picked up another win, pitching seven complete innings. Wacha gave up no runs, only four hits, and walked four while striking out six.

Recent pickup, Jonathan Broxton earned his twelfth hold with teammate Randy Choate also holding, his eighth, as they split the eighth inning.

Cards' closer Trevor Rosenthal notched his thirty-second save of the season.

The Cardinals continue their nine-game road trip in Miami today, starting a three-game set versus the Marlins. The road trip concludes with a three-game series on the west coast against the defending WS champions, the San Francisco Giants.
