Grichuk solo shot in 13th evens series with Reds

CINCINNATI--Randal Grichuk went long in the top of the thirteenth inning at Great American Ballpark to give the St. Louis Cardinals a 4-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds Wednesday. Grichuk's solo blast was his thirteenth of the season. Grichuk also doubled, his twentieth.

Matt Carpenter continued his homer hitting ways in recent games, clouting his fifteenth of the season, a solo shot.

Seth Maness (4-1) picked up a win due to Grichuk's extra inning heroics.

Carlos Martinez started for the Cards, going five full innings.

The 4-3 edging of the Reds evens the three game series, making Thursday's game the rubber match.

St. Louis heads to Milwaukee on Friday.
