Moss, Cruz homer in Cards southwestern sweep

PHOENIX--Fans are not happy with the St. Louis Cardinals sweep of their Arizona Diamondbacks, but are undoubtedly happy the Cards leave Phoenix.

The 5-3 win gave St. Louis a four-game sweep and their fifth straight win as they jet off to that World Series city, San Francisco, for three with the defending WS champions.

Tony Cruz hit his first longball of the season in the early innings, a solo shot amongst three Redbirds' runs by the end of third inning. The D-Backs, however, tied things up with three runs in the bottom half of the frame.

Recently acquired Brandon Moss went yard in the fifth inning, the game-winning hit for the Cards, a two-run homer.

Trevor Rosenthal earned save number 41, and will now have The Giants series off for paternity leave.

Cards' starter, Carlos Martinez (13-6), grabbed a W with six innings of work. Martinez gave up all three D-Backs runs.
