Reds cutting Cards division lead to bits

CINCINNATI--GREAT AMERICAN BALLPARK--Including a suspended game win yesterday, the Cincinnati Reds have taken down the St. Louis Cardinals four times in the last three days.

And Cincy may not be done chopping down the Cardinals' N. L. Central lead, which now stands at 2.5 games ahead of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Worse for the Cardinals, they've now opened the door for the Chicago Cubs, just 5.5 back, and now believing they can actually win their way into what has basically been uncharted territory for decades.

Is St. Louis manager Mike Matheny ready to hit the panic button?

Midwestern baseball fans will find out today when the Cards complete their "five game series" with the Reds.
