Cardinals Fun Facts - Television and Radio Broadcasts

  • In 2015, Cardinals telecasts on FOX Sports Midwest generated the best ratings in the team's 22 seasons on the regional sports network and second-highest local television ratings this season in Major League Baseball -- the 16th straight year in which the Cardinals ranked among baseball's top three teams (courtesy The Nielsen Co.). FOX Sports Midwest-produced Cardinals telecasts are shown in ten states and available in millions of homes.
  • Cardinals telecasts are averaging a 10.0 rating/123,000 households in 2015, the highest season average ever on FOX Sports Midwest.
  • With the Royals first and Cardinals second, it’s the first time two teams from the same state will finish Nos. 1 and 2 in MLB local market TV ratings. (Records go back to 1996.)
  • Ratings are up 29 percent from a 7.9 last season.
  • Cardinals telecasts on FOX Sports Midwest are the highest-rated, most-watched programming in prime time in St. Louis.
  • FOX Sports Midwest televised 145 regular-season games this season. They were the No. 1-rated program of the day in St. Louis on nearly 90 of those dates.
  • The Cardinals Radio flagship station is 1120 KMOX. Its booming 50,000 watt signal, at night, reaches more than 40 states and part of Canada.
  • The Cardinals Radio Network is the second largest in baseball with 140 affiliate stations in nine states (Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Tennessee) with the potential to reach over 21.3 million listeners.
