Will Yadi be on postseason roster?

ST. LOUIS--St. Louis Cardinals' fans are hopeful Yadier Molina, injured a few weeks ago, will be including on the postseason roster for the NLDS that begins Friday at Busch Stadium.

Molina sustained a thumb injury which may require more time to heal before the Cards' catcher can participate in the playoffs. A split will be worn by Molina to find out whether he can catch and hit without too much discomfort.

According to mlb.com, Molina was hitting .270 before the injury. Molina also caught more innings (1,149 and 2/3) and games (131) than any catcher in the NL, even with the injury putting him on the bench in final weeks of the season.

Molina has more postseason experience than any Cardinals on the roster, playing 86 playoff games.

In 19 postseason series, Molina hit .290.

The Cardinals have until Friday to decide whether to include Molina on the postseason roster.
